In 1925,
Marjorie Bouvé was already a seasoned teacher and a savvy businesswoman.
In just the few months between February and September, she raised funding
for a new school, recruited teachers and students, leased facilities,
and opened the doors of the Bouvé School.
The School
was run on a nearly identical footing to that of the Boston School of
Physical Education, with curriculum, standards, and culture running in
parallel. Nonetheless, the school was an immediate success and in its
five years of existence the School graduated dozens of well-trained and
well-respected new teachers.
