Monomettes
Regalia
|
After student
self-government proved to be a success during the year, it seemed natural
to extend it to camp. The Monomettes were students who had finished their
two years at camp and returned to guide the younger students, as well
as act in a semi-administrative capacity alongside their teachers. Monomettes
were keepers of the honor code at camp, and the go-betweens for campers
and instructors, mediating concerns about time for lights-out, questions
about uniform dress, and even locations for smoking. They had regular
meetings and kept close minutes, an example of which is reproduced above.
