The collection includes reports submitted by five groups of students enrolled in the undergraduate course History 1537 during Spring semester 1998. The reports contain essays, photographs, and negatives documenting Brazilian, Dominican, Haitian, and Puerto Rican communities in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. The reports describe a Brazilian-Portuguese neighborhood in Cambridge, the Cathedral Housing Development in Boston, the Dominican community of Center Street in Jamaica Plain, the Haitian Multi-Service Center in Roxbury/Dorchester, and the Puerto Rican community in Boston's South End. |
