Freedom House flourished under the constant fund raising efforts of the Board of Directors, co-directors, and community members. Early efforts included bazaars, and a 1951 concert by Marian Anderson. Later annual Ebony Fashion Fairs and concerts by Pearl Bailey, Nancy Wilson, Nina Simone, and Cab and Chris Calloway were socially and financially successful. |
