About the Exhibit

This online exhibit was created in 2006 as a project of the Northeastern University Libraries, Archives and Special Collections Department in celebration of Veterans’ Day and in conjunction with the dedication of the NU Veterans’ Memorial. The exhibit provides a brief overview of university support of and student involvement in the U.S. military during and after the major wars and conflicts of the 20th century. The exhibit highlights the experience of veterans from World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War through excerpts from oral histories conducted by students in Northeastern’s Oral History Program. Additionally, three of the veterans interviewed, Charles Armour, Frank Feirman, and Donald MacDonald, were Northeastern students.
