Finding a Political Voice

"The White Magic of Systemic Racism" cover and page from introduction (1977)

William E. Alberts' pamphlet, "The White Magic of Systemic Racism," is a scathing indictment of Boston leaders' efforts to play down the racism inherent in the city's desegregation battles. Mel King, state representative, mayoral candidate, MIT professor, and community activist, supported by the fledgling African American political community, was also a crusading voice against the racism. From the Freedom House records.
