Civil
Rights Legislation
Action Alert
(1989)
“Gay people, their friends, family, and supporters have
the power to ensure that 1989 will be the year of celebration, not
defeat.”
During the third reading of the 1989 Gay Civil Rights Bill, gay
and lesbian groups organized rallies to ensure that the bill would
not be killed as it was two years before. This newsletter from the
Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Civil Rights summarizes the recent
history of the bill and encourages individuals and organizations
to attend the rally, write letters, and post flyers to exhort the
Senate to pass the bill. From
the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Political Alliance of
Massachusetts records.
