Using the NU Libraries Ejournal Finder

What is the NU Libraries Ejournal Finder?

The NU Libraries Ejournal Finder allows you to:

  • search for ejournals licensed by the NU Libraries and the NU School of Law Library.
  • search Tables of Contents (TOC's) by author, keyword and other search parameters.
  • set up email alerts using myTDNet
Searching the Ejournals:

From the "Home" page, you can search the list of e-journal titles available at Northeastern. You may choose to search by:

  • Journal title:

(the default partial word search locates your search term anywhere, even if it is embedded in another word. For example, "logic" will find "psychological". Change the "partial words" dropdown to "exact..." for more precise searching.)
  • Publisher (for example, Cambridge, Kluwer)
  • Aggregator/Vendor (for example, Lexis-Nexis, Ebsco)
  • ISSN (e-version)

Each record in your search results will contain:

  • Journal title
  • Vendor Access (where applicable)
  • Online coverage, listing the dates of the journal available electronically
  • Publisher (linked to the publisher's web site)
  • Info, small letter i icon icon if there are any special permissions, restrictions, or date embargoes.
Linking to Tables of Contents (TOC's)

Next to each journal listed, you will find links to electronic table of contents (TOC) records. The TOC file is updated weekly and all bibliographic information is searchable.

Some journals also display a link to the journal web site.

Here you may choose to search by keywords in the article title, authors, journal titles, volume and issue numerations, publishers, aggregators, dates, and ISSN's, print or electronic.

You may choose to limit your search to a pool of journals in a certain subject.

  • Article title
  • Author(s) of the article
  • Article source (Journal title, linked to the journal site)
  • ISSN (print and electronic versions)
  • Date, Volume & issue numbers

Phrases
type "British working class" and select "exact phrase" to retrieve these three words only when they appear together.
