An award-winning sculptor, painter, book illustrator, printmaker, graphic artist, writer.and teacher, Leonard Baskin has works in major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Art Institute of Chicago; and the VaticanMuseums, Romse. Among Baskin's many commissions is a bas relief he made for the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C., and a statue for the Holocaust Memorial in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Between 1953 and 1974, Baskin taught printmaking and sculpture at Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts.
