Michael Mazur was a noted figure in contemporary American art. Following his first exhibition in 1961, he had more than 150 solo and group exhibits in galleries and institutions nationwide, including the Barbara Krakow Gallery, Boston; Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts; Robert Miller Gallery, New York; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Mary Ryan Gallery, New York. Mazur also participated in group exhibitions worldwide, including the Seoul Arts Festival at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; and the 1970 Venice Biennale.
