Watercolor on paper, 21½ x 27½ inches

Scott Prior is a contemporary realist. His still lifes, landscapes, and paintings of people are striking for their photographic quality and the way the capture the unique quality of light as it strikes a bottle, shines through a translucent leaf, or creates a pink-orange wash across the horizon at dawn or dusk. Prior has artwork in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, Massachusetts; Danforth Museum, Framingham, Massachusetts; Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts; and other major public and private collections. He has shown extensively in one-person and group shows in the United States and abroad.
