    Create digital projects using text, images, audio and video

    • Text: scan, import/capture, print
    • Photographs: take, scan (photographs, slides), edit, import/capture, export
    • Audio: record narration, import/mix/edit, format shifting, export
    • Video: shoot (original), import VHS, DV tape, camera and removable media, edit, export

    Staff-provided Services

    • transfer/export analog audio and video materials into digital formats
    • digitize public domain media materials to be added to the Library's digital collection
    • digitize archival material: for patrons/IRis/Library collection
    • record broadcast television programs off-air

    Instruction:

    • individual and small group instruction in digital creation and use of resources
    • training and reference materials
    • education for students and faculty about media literacy and digital copyright issues

    Reservations

    MacPro stations are reservable in advance for three hour time blocks. A video camera and digital camera may be borrowed for in-Library use. Patrons are responsible for saving and storing their own files and must provide their own recordable media for exporting files and projects—CDs, DVD-Rs, or portable hard drives. The Studio will not be responsible for any files left on Studio computers.

    We suggest all users make themselves familiar with relevant Information about copyright. We will require patrons to submit a “Checklist for Fair Use Form” when using copyrighted material in presentations. The Studio maintains a collection of royalty free media, which patrons can use in productions. We also provides links to web sites that incorporate public domain images, sound and audio clips which you can capture.
