Schedule in advance:
Media materials
Facilities (rooms & spaces)
Borrowing
Current NU faculty/staff/students may:
- view/listen to materials on-site
- borrow most non-reserve items for two days (and renew twice)
Personal copies, rare or fragile materials, and course reserves must be used in the library.
Restricted access
Some items, usually feature films, appear in our catalog (NuCat) with a "Restricted access" note in accordance with copyright guidelines (.pdf).
Users may not view restricted materials on-site unless:
- the materials have been placed on reserve for student viewing, and the students’ names are listed on an official class roster or,
- the students obtain written permission from their instructor
Scheduling Materials in Advance
Students may make a reservation in person to use popular or reserve materials on-site.
Faculty may walk in during open hours to pick up materials for classroom use. However, we recommend scheduling of media materials at least 24 hours in advance to ensure they are available when you need them.
Visitors from outside NU
Members of BLC libraries may use non-reserve, non-restricted media materials on-site with a valid BLC card. Please call in advance to check availability and make arrangements for your visit. Some media materials circulate on interlibrary loan.
