Govistics

Connect to Govistics

Govistics, from the Center for Governmental Research, is a comprehensive cost of government database, focusing on state/local government finance.  Govistics contains a decade of spending, revenue, and employment data across major categories (e.g. education, public safety, social services) and detailed subcategories (e.g. K-12 education, police, welfare) for 39,000 state, county, and local governments.  Govistics also contains detailed spending and revenue data for 15,000 school districts, and its graphical interface helps users track, compare, and contextualize public finance data.  The data is harmonized, allowing users to perform “apples to apples” comparisons across state and county lines. Users can also download a customized spreadsheet for offsite analysis.
