TTY/TDD

(Snell Library's TTY: 617-373-3395)

A TTY/TDD device allows typed signals to travel over the telephone, so individuals who are deaf can use the telephone. You may use the TTY/TDD to communicate directly with another TTY/TDD, or you may use it to communicate with a hearing person on a standard telephone, using a relay service to relay the typed message into spoken words. Available: Snell Library Reference Desk, and pay phones on the lower level of Snell Library and in the Cyber Cafe. A device for coupling with a standard telephone (to make the telephone operate as a TTY) is available for checkout from Snell Circulation.
